Fennel provides similar effects in reducing pain in
primary dysmenorrheal as the conventional drug treatments.
From a recent study, it was assessed that fennel is effective and safe for decreasing the primary dysmenorrheal pain.
In this study, twenty databases were investigated. And the randomized controlled trials finding the efficiency of fennel for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea were included.
Twelve studies were considered in this evaluation. The collective outcomes of the seven trials demonstrated the similar effect of fennel to the conventional drug treatments in easing the pain.
As compared to placebo, fennel has shown beneficial
effects on decreasing the primary dysmenorrheal pain. Among all, only three
studies evaluated the adverse events.
