To study the effectiveness of multi-ingredient supplement with a specific Myo-Inositol to D-Chiro-Inositol (3.6:1, MYO: DCI), along with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) and with a history of failed assisted reproductive technique (ART).
Supplementation prior to fertility treatment with a precise ratio of Myo-Inositol, D-Chiro-Inositol, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins may benefit sub-fertile women (average age=35 years) with poor ART prognostic factors (weakened ovarian reserve, endocrine changes and/or compromised quality of oocyte).
This preliminary evidence of the case series comprises 5 women (average age=34.8 years). They had a history of infertility and previously failed ART. These women were supplemented with inositol supplement under consideration for 1-3 months prior to IVF.
Among the 5 women featured in this series, 4 had a PCOS diagnosis (Cases 1, 3-5), while 1 exhibited diminished ovarian reserve (Case 2). Specifically, 3 patients had undergone 2 failed IVF cycles, 1 patient had 3 failed IVF attempts, and 1 patient had 4 failed intrauterine inseminations. As found, all participants experienced positive outcomes in ART following supplementation for 1 to 3 months before ovarian puncture. Notably, each had previously undergone unsuccessful ART attempts.
This series of case studies provides preliminary evidence that supports the use of this multi-nutritional supplementation to positively contribute to female fertility in women undergoing IVF, with a history of infertility and earlier unsuccessful ART.
