to other triptans.
Naratriptan has been stated to decrease the incidence of cluster
headache. The objective of this investigation was to define whether Naratriptan
is efficient as a prophylactic medication for cluster headache in Japan.
The analysis conducted with 43 participants who obtained
Naratriptan in between April 2009 to April 2015 at three centers; Saitama
Neuropsychiatric Institute, Saitama Medical University International Medical
Center, and Department of Neurology, Saitama Medical University. Naratriptan
was prescribed to be taken before went to bed.
A total of 13 females and 30 males were present in the
analysis. Out of 43 participants, only 21 received Naratriptan and other 22
received other preventive medications. In total 37 patients out of 43 able to
obtain an improvement of cluster headache on Naratriptan.
Naratriptan has been recommended as preventive medicine
for cluster headache due to its longer the biological half-life than the other
Triptans. The internal application of Naratriptan two hours prior to the
attacks seems to produce a good response within individuals with cluster
headache.
